Fort Lauderdale native Sasha Dias has been obsessed with music since she was 12 years old. Sasha sang for family and friends for years before venturing out to perform at social events. Her debut appearance was at The Reggae Soca Music Awards.  These days Sasha is busy working in the studio and on stage. The deeply passionate artist says, “The best part for me is when I am stage, I feel energized I get an adrenaline rush”.

Best known for forceful live performances, she has expanded her horizon by releasing four singles from her brand new sophomore album Journey. The song ‘Borrowed Time’ peaked at No.1 on the charts in Jamaica and South Florida while gracing reggae charts in New York and Europe, which opened up a new and expanded fan base for her.

Journey’s  title track is an original love song that will take you on a magic carpet ride. ‘Don’t Rush’ grabs you from the beginning with a catchy chorus and the familiar baseline keeps you rocking so you don’t want to stop playing it. ‘Little Things’ is a sweet singalong; ‘Gonna Have A Good Day’ is a promise that will be delivered once you get the CD in your hands and ‘What Have I Done’ appealing melody will linger on your mind.  Among the impressive list of cover songs is the definitive rendition of Phyllis Delion’s hit, ‘The Love That A Woman Should Give To A Man’, Carole King’s standard ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’, the graceful Irene Cara’s ‘Out Here On My Own’,  and Oliver Newton-John’s ’70s gem ‘Borrowed Time’

Lindel Thompson produced the album for LTK20 Records, with musical director Willie Lindo working with extraordinary musicians such as Danny Axman, Sly & Robbie, I-Paul Gauntlett, Robbie Lyn, Kirk Bennett, Kashief Lindo, Computer Paul, Junior Jazz, Lloyd Parks, P

aul Douglas and John Erinosho, who all delivered smashing sounds from roots reggae to pop. Harmony vocals were provided courtesy of Shauna Dazzle, Pam Hall, Sean Vernon, Ester Fortune and Ledean Webster.

Sasha recalls, “I was glad I got to work with Kashief and Willie Lindo who gave me helpful advice about singing and life in general. I really enjoy working on the originals, I could relate to them more in my own style”.

LTK20 Records says “We can’t wait to see where her journey goes – it might even earn Grammy attention”. The album has wide general appeal, especially among young people, and is heading straight to ‘Musicland’ for happy times, so jump right on and enjoy the Journey.

Blessings,
